Currently studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Den Haag as a master student in Jazz composition, studying with Martin Fondse and Trevor Grahl.
During his stay in the Netherlands he had the chance to have lessons with composers as Miho Hazama, Chris Cheek and Philipe Maniez.
He has been selected from the Conservatoire of Den Haag to partecipate to an exchange programme with the USC Thornton school of music in Los Angeles, where he had the chance to meet Vince Mendoza.
During this studies he is focusing in composing and arranging for big ensembles, having the chance to attend some rehearsals of the Metropole Orkest and their recording session with Steve Vai.
He graduated in Jazz guitar at the Saint Louis College of Music in Rome in 2018 studying as a Guitar student with Nico Stufano and deepening the study of jazz composition and arrangement with teachers such as Amedeo Tommasi, Pierpaolo Principato, Antonio Solimene, Pierpaolo Silvestri.
During the course, he was able to study in Holland at the Conservatorium Maastricht with Joachim Schoneker, Joep Van Leewuen, Wolfgang Braun, Jesse Passenier.
In the meantime, during the bachelor, he followed a course of study aimed at classical orchestration and composition with Gianluca Podio, Adriano Melchiorre, Mario Gagliani and following the masterclasses of Nicola Piovani.
This interest in composition led him to enroll in the Master in applied music at the Santa Cecilia in Rome which ended in 2020, studying with Maurizio Gabrieli, David Logan, Silvio Relandini, Antonio Di Pofi.
During which he has the opportunity to contribute to the creation of a game with the "AIV" by composing the music.
The study, the work and the inclination of taste have led Stefano Gullo towards a variety of styles and musical expressions ranging from jazz to classical / contemporary.
He is active both as a jazz guitarist and as a composer, he took the stage of the "Auditorium Parco Della Musica" in 2017 with his jazz quintet and in 2018 as a composer and conductor.
He released an album "Circensia" recorded in 2021 with the Stefano Gullo Quintet, together with the musicians Giulia Pagliaricci, Gabriele Calanca, Stefano Zaralli, Sergio Mazzini.
He had the opportunity to play with artists such as Diodato, Roy Paci, Rosario Giuliani, Maurizio Giammarco.
In 2021 he founded "Sinfollia", a Multistilistic orchestra in Rome, together with Gabriele Calanca and Stefano Zaralli; starting with proposing a repertoire of arrangements for film music and nowadays trying to develop an own Artistic Identity; proposing their own compositions and arrangements for Italian artists, aiming to specialize the orchestra in playing Jazz & Popular music.
